“A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It’s the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would.”
It’s us – Mai See and Chee La (My-C and Chi-La). We’re a husband-and-wife photography team based in Berlin, WI. If you’re here, it means you’re curious to get to know us—and we’re so glad you’re taking the time to do that!
First off, we’re hopeless romantics. We met during our first year at university and quickly became college sweethearts (and yes, our first boy/girlfriend relationship too!). We believe in true love—the kind that makes you feel like the luckiest person alive, the kind that fills your heart with joy and happiness. We’re not shy about it—we’re sappy, and we absolutely believe that everyone deserves to experience that kind of love.
We’re all about adventures! Whether it’s hiking through the mountains, swimming in the ocean, exploring centuries-old buildings, or indulging in street food from all corners of the world, we’re always up for something new. Our love for travel and photography began with our first overseas trip to Japan. Armed with nothing but a tiny point-and-shoot camera, we fell head over heels for the stunning scenery, delicious food, and rich culture—and that’s when our photography journey began.
Over the years, we’ve collected countless irreplaceable photos from around the globe, each one holding a special memory. We’re still passionate about travel and are always dreaming of new places to visit in the future!
While traveling is always exciting, there’s something truly special about coming home to our quiet little spot in the country. These days, our lives are beautifully full, chasing after our two little ones and soaking in every sweet, chaotic, joy-filled moment. We always knew we wanted to be parents, but nothing could have prepared us for just how much joy and meaning it would bring. It’s the biggest blessing to experience life through their curious little eyes.
As a family, we love getting outside and exploring the nature around us. This year, we took Kai on his first cabin trip up north, and he absolutely loved it. We also went on our first family camping trip, and somehow, despite the extra gear, snacks, and chaos that come with two little kids, we had the best time. The kids loved every minute of it, and we’re already looking forward to more little adventures together.
At home, Chee La is usually up early sneaking in some fishing whenever he can. It’s easily his favorite pastime. When he’s not out on the water, you’ll find him doing yardwork or tinkering with his beloved collection of Celicas (yes, there’s more than one). I’m most often in the kitchen cooking something new because food is absolutely my love language. And when we have a quiet evening, we’re happiest doing very little at all, rewatching our favorite comfort shows and just being together.
We believe photographs are more than images—they’re memories you’ll carry for a lifetime. Our approach is intentional yet relaxed, refined yet playful, always rooted in love. We want your experience to feel easy, joyful, and true to who you are, while creating imagery that feels timeless and elevated.
If that sounds like your vibe, send us a message! We serve the areas surrounding Berlin, Oshkosh, and Appleton—but traveling is one of our favorite things, so we’d love to capture your photos no matter where you are.
Cheers,
Mai See & Chee La

Chee La and I meet for the very first time at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. We discovered that we shared the same exact birthday and became friends right away!
Our first time overseas! We are English Counselors for Guy Healy Japan. We discover our love for traveling and photography. Ate our fill of ramen and bbq, bathed in the ocean and fell in love with Japanese language and culture!
We officially started dating. Everyone saw this coming.
Studied abroad in South Korea! Got to explore all of Seoul, Busan and Jeju! Obsessed with Korean food and definitely ate our weight in delicious Korean bbq.
We backpacked through Italy! Fell in love with the architecture and culture in Florence. Traveled in a gondola in Venice. Walked the stone paths of the Coliseum in Rome. Got engaged in Tuscany under its starry night... and got our camera & engagement ring stolen in Milan. Still wouldn't trade our memories for the world.
We bought our first home! Quiet and serene out in the county with so much open field to run around take photos in. Life is wonderful!
After 8 years of dating and over a decade of friendship...
WE ARE FINALLY MARRIED.
It takes a leap of faith and a lot of hard work but we officially transitioned to our real passion of capturing weddings and couples.
Luna Hnubqub arrives and life is never the same again. What a joy and blessing she is to our lives.
Kaius Kajsaib is here! Lulu's best friend and our favorite boy. He's such a fast learner.
We believe in love stories and are truly each other's best friend. Over a decade together, 24/7 and we absolutely would not want it any other way.
We are both graphic designers and artists. I do majority of my work on the computer and he does more hands-on illustrations.
Our favorite past-time is lazing around the house with each other and re-watching our favorite series: The Office, Scrubs, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Lord of the Rings.
He is very sarcastic and loves to joke. He once informed me that we couldn't be together if I didn't have a sense of humor. We love listening to comics and going to shows. Some of our favorite comedians are: Jim Jefferies, Christoper Titus, Bill Burr and George Carlin.
We love to travel: visit historical sites, study art and eat. He likes to photograph architecture and objects, while I focus on capturing memories of us.
I love to cook and eat. My favorite dishes are khaub piaj (Hmong-style chicken noodle soup — I like mine with pork riblets) and fawn kauv (steamrolls). His favorites are Hmong eggrolls and basil chicken. I also like baking. My favorite baked dessert is the tres leche cake.
He loves listening to music and singing. I know all his favorite songs!
He loves his Celicas and spending time outside in the garage working on them. I help whenever he needs a pair of tiny hands to get into tight corners to retrieve a screw or bit.
I am only 4'9" and appreciate all his help, carrying and grabbing things for me.
We prefer tea over coffee.
