When Chee La and I first moved to Berlin, we couldn’t wait to explore all the nature areas and hiking trails. We soon found many different spots for relaxing, eating, fishing, and of course taking photos. That led us to Hammer’s Trail at the Green Lake Conference Center. It was a trail dedicated to Brian Hamming. We loved the area and always wondered who Brian was. Fast forward a few years to meeting Claire and Carl. The day before the wedding, we met them for a memorial hike dedicated to Carl’s brother at Hammer’s Trail. They shared Brian’s story with us, how much he loved this area and how it brought them together through a purely chanced meeting in a completely different state. As if that wasn’t serendipitous enough, Claire’s mom and Carl’s parent also met by chance as well right on Brian’s trail. It leads us to believe these two were destined for each other.

Their wedding day was as simple as it comes. A ceremony on the water, right next to the trail, surrounded by loved ones. Their vows were so sweet to each other and we could help but smile. The details and little touches were so cute and really let Claire and Carl’s personalities show through. Their family helped put everything together and we could see how much they love them both. The theme was “nothing fancy, just love” and it was so fitting. It was just perfect for them.

The evening flew by. We met all their wonderful friends and families and enjoyed jokes, sweet moments, and great food. The night came to an end with dancing in the ballroom and some beautiful shots in the afterglow. Beautiful doesn’t even define it. This is why we love taking a little bit of time on our couple’s wedding day to set up these shots! So worth it!!
