We met up with Lexi and Ross in downtown Neenah, and wow, summer really showed off that day. It was hot, like the kind of hot where you wonder if your hair will last more than five minutes, but these two didn’t let the heat steal the spotlight.

This session was extra fun because we weren’t just photographing—we were also filming their engagement video. Having both going at once gave the whole day this playful, creative vibe. Every time we moved to a new spot, Lexi and Ross were game to try something different, and it shows in every frame.

One of the highlights was stumbling into the cutest little alleyway lined with pinwheels. It honestly felt like we’d found a secret tucked into downtown Neenah, and it couldn’t have been a better backdrop. A quiet moment together against those pinwheels felt like pure magic. And then came the grand finale, the golden hour glow. Just when we thought we had already captured all the magic, the light dropped low and wrapped around them like it had been ordered just for this shoot. It made every photo and video clip feel like something out of a movie.

We’re already counting down the days until their wedding at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens next year. If their engagement session was this much fun, we can only imagine how incredible their big day is going to be. We’ll bring the cameras, of course, but with these two, the joy practically photographs itself.
