Ashley & Trevor | Built with Love | Berlin, WI

At the end of September in Wisconsin you’d expect a brisk cool wind, leaves fallen all over, and everyone in sweaters. Not this day. Can you say 80s and beautiful? A perfect day for a outdoor backyard wedding, with a barn! This was not a wedding venue, it was the backyard of Ashley and Trevor’s family friend. It may as well have been one though. A long driveway leading past the beautiful wooden barn, up towards the house with a super cute porch that faces the river where the ceremony was set up. It was just so gorgeous that we were in awe.

We went inside and met the girls. Ashley looked dazzling with her hair and makeup. Her girls were just as beautiful in their rose colored gowns. While the girls got ready, the guys were at Ashley and Trevor’s house. After they got dressed, they each shared gifts for their bridal party. Then they opened their special gifts for each other. A flood of emotions hit everyone when they read their heartfelt letters.

Wedding days are so much fun. We also enjoy getting to know the dynamics of each bridal party and my goodness, this group was a hoot! What a wonderful group of humans to accompany their day. Support when you need it, getting the job done with or without asking. The party was already started before anything else. Jokes were thrown left and right and you had to sure to dodge or else you’d become the butt of the jokes. Chee La got hit a couple of times I’m sure.

Right before ceremony we saw their sweet little girl Elana come out and get ready to be the best flower girl ever. Finishing touches were put together and before you know it Trevor was at the alter awaiting his beautiful bride. When the curtains opened and Ashley took her first steps towards him, he couldn’t hold back the tears. Their rings were blessed by their parents and grandparents and butterflies were released for their loved ones. There were so many sweet and touching moments and this is why we love capturing wedding days so much.

After the ceremony dinner was served and the barn doors were opened to let the party animals out. It was a blast!! Ashley and Trevor’s family and friends definitely know how to throw down. We managed to sneak them out for some golden hour photos and gave them a little breather from all the dancing when we took them out behind the barn for some amazing night shots. The day always goes by too fast and so we said our good byes and congratulations to them before leaving for the night. Ashley and Trevor, you two are a beautiful couple who have a wonderful life together. We wish you the best!
